Situated at the southern most tip of the Charente Maritime is the area known as the 'Haute Saintonge' beloved by the French and English alike, it is a land that time has forgotten. The luminous quality of light much loved by artists bathes the limestone villages in warmth. The houses with their roman tiled roofs, fabulous Romanesque churches and the wide, unpolluted starry nights make this an area rich in atmosphere and charm.

It is a landscape of woodland and meadows rich in flora and fauna, crisscrossed by chalk pathways where you can walk for miles in complete peace.

Bordeaux, an enchanting city, now a world heritage site is just a forty five minute drive away. The rich wine villages of Pomerol, St Emilion and Fronsac are just forty minutes drive.

Nestled in this beautiful countryside is the tiny hamlet of Moreau where you will find The Farmhouse and The Pressoir, two lovingly restored 18th century houses offering a tranquil and secluded retreat from modern life. Exquisitely furnished with original features preserved, simple and luxurious. Wifi is available in both houses.
